Plowman Craven help Impsport develop specialist clothing

Plowman Craven have added to an impressive list of achievements in their first season by helping sports clothing specialist Impsport develop a new range of compression clothing.
And in recognition of the input from the riders Impsport are giving two lucky team supporters the chance to win a set of the brand new kit, worth £80, plus offering every Plowman Craven supporter a £5.00 discount if they buy a full set.
The Plowman Craven riders provided the expertise to help Team kit supplier Impsport develop the new range. Their hands-on advice was crucial in the development of the compression clothing which was tested by the riders throughout the season including during the Tour of Britain. The compression technology wraps the body tightly to continue to work the muscles and blood flow after exercise, reducing oxygen levels in the muscles by as much as 15%. It is widely regarded as the future of exercise recovery. The kit comes in both long and short versions, and there are men and women’s fits available.
Former World track silver medallist and team rider Tony Gibb commented: "As full time professional cyclists we subject our bodies to some gruelling conditions and we are always interested in exploring ways to help us recover from the rigours of training and competition. We know that to stay competitive at this level we need to examine every opportunity that science and technology provides to give us an edge. We've tested this kit after both one-day races and week long tours like the Tour of Britain and can confidently say that it does help muscles recover. Riders on the team who only used massage after a stage found their legs took longer to recover. Dan Ellmore from Imsport explained the technology behind his company’s compression clothing:

The project with Impsport is not the first time the leading UK-based professional team has worked with it’s sponsors to develop products. Plowman Craven also worked closely with bike manufacturer Pinnacle to develop their new all-carbon frame; riders provided the company with invaluable feedback after using prototypes of the bikes in both the Tour of Ireland and Tour of Britain and are set to use the finished bike this season.
